- Used with the AA4RE BBS V2.12C+ (c) 1989-1992 by H. Roy Engehausen AA4RE
- ==============================================================================
- Requires BB2.12C or later, a FAST Hard drive & an installed SAM CallSign
- database, Wpages are optional but will provide added data.
- The W1NPR Zipcode index is also optional and may be created by BBsamzip.exe,
- obtained on disk or downloaded from the W1NPR LL Port.
- ============================================================================
-
- Description:
-
- A QTH server which will provide Users with the ability to obtain listings by
- name as well as callsign for hams, clubs, military & races.
- Optional Wpage & zipcode listings and all SAM Database options are available
- with complete old/new call conversion, License renewal date, First date
- licensed, County, Full Birthdate & more.
- =============================================================================
- Updating BBrtqth.exe from a previous version:
-
- Update your SAM database and be SURE to use the NEW SAMAPI.EXE included.
- No other installation is required except to replace the BBreqqth.exe file
- with the updated version.
-
- =============================================================================
- NOTE !!!!
- All the BBrtqth servers will now display the locally Edited data and added
- calls from your SAM program, to make this data effective you must re-load
- the SAMAPI tsr or re-boot your system after editing the database.
-
- Be sure if you have the Previous call option you run REVPREV to create the
- reverse call option database, this will allow users to enter either the
- new or old call to get the data on a listing. The other call will appear
- in the reply.
- =============================================================================
-
- Installation & Setup:
-
- Place the BBrtqth.exe program file anywhere you wish, place BBrtqth.trl,
- BBrtqth.rep & any zipcode indexes in the same directory as your SAM database
- If you select any directory other than the "BB" default for BBrtqth.exe
- you must path to it when calling it up.
-
- Edit the BBrtqth.trl & BBrtqth.rep files to suit
- ( Note Trailer not recommended but you may use it if desired )
-
- Edit BBrtyp.cfg as follows:
-
- Copy BBrtqth.rep into your help.bb file and prefix it with this line:
-
- : QTH N
-
- =========================== Sample BBrtyp.cfg ==============================
- C:\SAM\
- C:\bb\wp\
- S
-
- NOTE! This configuration file must be EXACT ! for proper operation of your
- BBREQQTH server. These text lines should be left in for future reference.
-
- Each parameter is on a single line.
- Line #1 = Exact path to your SAM callbook database, in which you should have
- all related files, trailers etc.
- Line #2 = Exact path to your Wpages database if you have it set up. If not
- just put NO
- Line #3 = The type of Wpage system you are running , there is no default it
- must be L or S or NO ! IF you do not have a Wpage system setup then
- just put NO.
- Do NOT leave it BLANK.
-
- The server reads from top to bottom and picks up the configuration.
- Do NOT have any comments etc. Just facts in these lines left justified etc.
- It will work if you have it right. This simple configuration saves code in
- the main program.
-
- ======================= End of sample BBrtqth.cfg ===========================
- Action.bb:
-
- Place the following line exactly in Action.bb and then an "A" command to load it.

- ============================================================================
- This program was written using all the SAM update options, if not all are
- installed it should detect and function with whatever is available. This
- has not been tested. If the options are not used, previous BBrtqth servers
- will function as before.
-
-
-
-
- First VERSION of an update ( BETA TEST ) !!
- This program was developed while writing several others and has not been
- well tested. It uses modules from several other programs each of which work
- but may cause unforeseen conflicts when combined together.
- As the BBS will stop while the server runs two limits are placed on the
- reply time, one is that the server will only supply about 5k of data to the
- user per request, second is it will stop after 30 seconds no matter what it
- has found and prompt the user for another request.
- I am sure this will cause conficts with busy systems with many users connected
- and much forwarding. It may not be possible to use this server in all cases &
- we hope further developments will allow full multitasking.
